Panasonic AK-UCX100 – Why LANG Is Investing in the New Flagship Camera

The UCX100 is the latest broadcasting milestone in LANG’s portfolio – and for good reason. Here’s why we’re putting our trust in Panasonic’s latest camera system.

The first day of ISE 2025 was already a highlight, not only because of its fascinating exhibits but due to exciting industry news—such as the collaboration between LANG and Panasonic.

It’s official: LANG is adding 40 units of the AK-UCX100 camera system from Panasonic to its portfolio. Tobias Lang, CEO, is excited about this step: “By investing in Panasonic’s AK-UCX100 camera systems, we are expanding our portfolio with a future-proof solution that offers our customers cutting-edge technology and maximum flexibility.”

Panasonic is equally thrilled about this development, as Sales Manager Nela Pertl confirms: “We appreciate the trust that LANG AG has placed in our innovative camera technology.”

This investment is a big deal. But why? What makes the UCX100 so fascinating, and why is LANG committing to this camera system on such a large scale?

The answer becomes clear when you take a closer look at the device: Simply put, the UCX100 is an extremely versatile camera that meets the highest demands in broadcast production and professional video projects today.

First and foremost, it is a 4K camera that maintains the familiar handling of its predecessors. Those who have worked with the UC4000 will find the transition to the UCX100 seamless.
Beyond that, this successor comes with improvements across the board: HDR support, precise colour reproduction as well as stunning image quality, all aided by a new sensor—so far, so good.

A focus on connectivity

One of the strengths of the UCX100 is its connectivity. With modern transmission standards such as NDI® High Bandwidth, SMPTE ST 2110, SRT, and 12G-SDI (x2), the camera integrates seamlessly into existing AV infrastructures. This provides maximum flexibility and a future-proof solution for diverse production needs—both now and in the years to come.

In addition to native SMPTE ST 2110 support, the camera features high-efficiency JPEG-XS compression directly at the camera head, ensuring even smoother transmission of content in IP-based networks—an essential factor for live broadcasts.

Other standout features include operation without a CCU and enhanced low-light performance. Panasonic’s new 4K flagship has what it takes to become the go-to camera system for studio productions, live broadcasts, sports events, and more.

For LANG, investing in the UCX100 was an obvious choice—because it delivers exactly what modern productions need: future-proof technology, ultimate flexibility, and uncompromising image quality.
